The Airborne Missile Protection System is a flexible stand-alone off-the-shelf self-protection suite for helicopters and ﬁxed-wing aircraft.
It is capable of combining different kinds of warning sensors, countermeasures and other avionic equipment in order to protect the platform and its crew against a variety of threats as e.g. infrared, laser or radar guided missile threats.
Its modular design allows AMPS to be easily adapted and conﬁgured to the speciﬁc operational needs and for different mission proﬁles.

AMPS-M: Integrates countermeasures dispenser system with 1 to 16 smart dispensers
AMPS-MV: Integrates Missile Verification Sensors to confirm the presence of an approaching missile, including parameters like distance and velocity. Depending on the operating mode of countermeasures are automatically initiated.
AMPS-ML: Integrates ALTAs-2Q(B), a passive Laser Warning System that is designed to detect, track and provide warning of hostile laser sources.
AMPS-MLR: Integrates the radar warning receiver ELT/160(V)1. It is a small, rugged and light weight Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) suitable for transport aircraft applications where payload weight and size are limited. The RWR is able to intercept, analyse and identify radar signals in the E to J bands and K band, computing the related directions of arrival.
AMPS-DIRCM: Instead of flares as countermeasure AMPS can be configured with Directed Infrared Counter Measures (DIRCM)
