Mode S/IFF Lightweight Transponder

The LTR 400 is currently the smallest and lightest transponder worldwide, which can be used without restrictions for both civilian air traffic control and military applications to identify friendly units. The LTR 400 product family covers the full range of requirements for airborne, ground and naval applications.

The LTR 400 Mode S/IFF transponder equipment set consists of the transponder and the remote Control And Display Unit (CADU). The latest versions of the LTR 400 S/IFF transponder can be controlled through MilBus 1553. 

The LTR 400 provides capability  of Mode S Enhanced Surveillance and Extended Squitter as defined  in ED-73E and ED-102 A and Mode 5 level 2 as defined in STANAG 4193.

Less weight has been a major design driver, therefore HENSOLD Sensors decided to use highly integrated modules and a simplified logistic concept.
