HENSOLDT opens InnoLab at Lake Constance

In order to drive innovation in the fields of simulation and artificial intelligence (AI), HENSOLDT is opening a laboratory at the campus of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Friedrichshafen.
“We are creating an innovation laboratory for our dual students at Lake Constance, where they can pursue their own projects in a professional environment as part of their studies,” said Christian Knop, Vice President and Head of HR Business Partner and HR Germany.
The students will work on tasks and projects in the context of simulation and AI and exchange ideas with HENSOLDT's technical experts, other students and teaching staff in a 72 m² facility. Christian Knop explained: “Our aim is to get to know our dual students at an early stage and to develop their strengths.”
Temur Karbassioun, Head of Customer Services, added: “HENSOLDT is growing, and in the area of customer services in particular, we are pursuing innovative approaches to ensure that our customers are and remain operational. We are already using modern technical solutions to optimally prepare users for working with our systems.”
HENSOLDT is renting the premises from RITZ Regionales Innovations- und Technologietransfer Zentrum GmbH. RITZ managing director Marian Duram expressed his delight: “With HENSOLDT, we have found a future-oriented company as a tenant that is an ideal match for our innovation centre and promotes the exchange between industry and science.”
The proximity to the DHBW campus on Lake Constance was a decisive factor for HENSOLDT in choosing the location for the innovation laboratory. Within Germany, HENSOLDT currently employs 120 dual students from 11 courses of study. The lease for the InnoLab runs for a period of five years.
