HENSOLDT - Innovations for a safer world

HENSOLDT plans to establish a new centre of excellence for Software-Defined Defence and Engineering, creating around 300 jobs in the Stuttgart region, with the aim of rapidly recruiting skilled personnel from the automotive sector for its growing Software-Defined Defence business. To this end, HENSOLDT has signed a cooperation agreement with Bosch and plans to lease vacant space in an empty building that forms part of the Bosch site in Leinfelden, near Stuttgart. Qualified Bosch employees, particularly those from the fields of systems development, software development and electrical engineering, can apply for the roles at HENSOLDT. Against the backdrop of structural change in the automotive industry, the partnership creates an opportunity to place employees with the right qualifications into new areas of work at HENSOLDT. The aim is to retain valuable expertise in the region and to safeguard the future viability of Baden-Württemberg as a business location.

HENSOLDT has been awarded a contract by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw to supply the equipment for the so-called dismounted Joint Fire Support Teams (JFSTs). Following the successful demonstration of the system’s capabilities – developed by HENSOLDT – in a previous contract, the series order has now been placed.

The sensor specialist HENSOLDT is donating 5,000 euros to Radio 7 Drachenkinder, that supports sick and disadvantaged children in the Alb-Donau region for more than 20 years.

Minister-President Cem Özdemir visited the new HENSOLDT campus in Oberkochen.

The focus of the visit was on the industrial base for defence electronics in Baden-Württemberg, the expansion of manufacturing capacity and jobs, and the role of software and artificial intelligence in transforming the development of modern defence systems.

The programme also included discussions with the Group’s senior management and apprentices, as well as a tour of the production facilities.
