Oberkochen/Taufkirchen, 1 February 2023 – Tanya Altmann is taking over the management of HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH, headquartered in Oberkochen. After a successful career in various companies, the native of Aalen is returning "home" to her home region. "I am very much looking forward to being part of a technology leader in the defence industry in the future," said Tanya Altmann at the welcome on Wednesday morning. As of 1 April, the 45-year-old is to take over the management of HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH and the management of HENSOLDT's Optronics & Land Solutions business unit from Andreas Hülle, who held this position for a period of almost seven years and played a key role in shaping the Optronics business. Andreas Hülle, who was successfully active in the security and defence industry for more than 30 years in total, will then retire.

"Due to the complexity of our business - be it in the area of the technology we develop, our product range or in the procurement of our customers - we will take time in the coming days and weeks to introduce my successor to the specifics of our work," said Andreas Hülle. "This is in line with our strategic and long-term succession planning."

"As former president for the global bus business of the Skoda Group and managing director for Skoda Transportation Deutschland GmbH, CEO at General Electric Power Conversion in Berlin, as well as through various project management roles at train builder Alstom and Airbus Military, including involvement in the A400M, Tanya Altmann brings more than 20 years of experience from various industries to our company," emphasised HR Director Dr Lars Immisch.

In addition to realising the growth strategy of the HENSOLDT Group, the new Optronics boss, who studied mechanical engineering with a specialisation in aerospace technology and today advises career starters and young executives as a volunteer mentor and is also a member of the FidAR association (Frauen in die Aufsichtsräte - Women on Supervisory Boards), wants to set her own accents: "As a new member of the HENSOLDT leadership team, I see it as one of my most important tasks to ensure that we continue to develop and deliver sensor solutions that help to protect our liberal values and our free democratic basic order, both in Germany and in the European alliance and NATO.”
