Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche visits HENSOLDT

In addition to an introduction to the site itself and a presentation on the company’s strategic transformation into a ‘neo-systems house’, the visit focused on current technology and innovation projects, such as developments relating to the TRML-4D air surveillance and target acquisition radar, the portfolio of solutions for secure protection against threats from uncooperative drones, and cross-domain and cross-platform networking via software-defined defence solutions.

Oliver Dörre used various demonstration stations – including the TRML-4D, a counter-UAS vehicle featuring the Elysion mission software, and the Battle Lab with the MDOcore software suite – to illustrate what matters most to the entire HENSOLDT team: “We take our responsibility very seriously. We are investing heavily in delivery capability, scaling up our production and developing high-performance Software-Defined Defence solutions. With our steadily growing team – this year we are recruiting around 1,600 new employees – we aim to make a significant contribution to freedom and security in Germany, Europe and beyond.”
At the same time, Oliver Dörre expressly thanked the Minister for her visit: “We are very grateful that you have taken the time to engage in dialogue with us and to learn about our strategic direction as a ‘neo-system house’ and our capabilities – first-hand, in person, on site.”

For her part, Katherina Reiche took the opportunity to emphasise the particular importance of close dialogue between the Federal Government and the security and defence industry. Her ministry sees itself as a partner for industrial strengthening and transformation. Germany must drive forward future technologies in a sustainable manner, both in the fields of security and defence and in sectors affected by upheaval. In conclusion, the Federal Minister thanked the staff at HENSOLDT for their exceptional commitment to the defence capabilities of Germany and its allies.
