HENSOLDT and AUMOVIO partner to support Job-to-Job transitions
Companies sign cooperation agreement and launch a joint initiative
The sensor system house HENSOLDT and technology company AUMOVIO have signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement aims to open up career opportunities for AUMOVIO employees as the company realigns its global research and development activities, and to facilitate transitions into roles that are in high regional demand.
The agreement covers AUMOVIO’s southern German locations in Ulm, Lindau and Markdorf, where around 600 employees are affected by the transformation.
Due to sustained demand in the defence industry, HENSOLDT is significantly expanding its delivery and production capacities and is actively recruiting new employees.
In 2025, HENSOLDT hired around 1,200 new employees and is planning 1,600 new hires for 2026, primarily in Germany. Growth is particularly strong at the Ulm, Oberkochen/Aalen and Immenstaad sites. In parallel, AUMOVIO is strategically realigning its global research and development activities.
For the locations in Ulm, Markdorf and Lindau, this means organizational changes — and AUMOVIO is consistently applying its “Job-to-Job” principle: together with social partners and regional employers, the company is actively working to create new perspectives and leverage regional opportunities for employees.
The AUMOVIO locations in Ulm, Markdorf and Lindau are in close proximity to HENSOLDT facilities. HENSOLDT is looking to hire across its entire value chain, with a particular focus on systems engineering, software development and electrical engineering.
In the AUMOVIO areas impacted by the transformation, there is strong expertise in systems and software engineering — qualifications that are especially valuable to HENSOLDT as it expands its development and production capabilities.
“Demand for modern defence technology is currently rising sharply, and with it our need for highly qualified engineers,” says HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dörre. “Many skill sets from the automotive industry — for example in systems engineering, software, or electronics — are an excellent match for the technologies we develop. The cooperation with AUMOVIO therefore creates real opportunities for skilled professionals in the region — and is mutually beneficial for both sides.”
Ingo Holstein, CHRO AUMOVIO, adds: “For AUMOVIO, acting responsibly toward our employees is paramount. As we realign our global R&D activities, we are working intensively to create new perspectives and enable seamless transitions into new roles. The cooperation with HENSOLDT is a strong example of how we shape change in a socially responsible way. It brings together regional opportunities with the diverse expertise of our colleagues — creating real value for both companies.”
