HENSOLDT and SE3 Labs enter into strategic partnership
Integration of AI capabilities into MDOcore
HENSOLDT and SE3 Labs, a Munich-based technology company specialising in spatial artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, have signed a memorandum of understanding at the ILA Berlin. The agreement sets out the framework for strategic cooperation in the field of spatial and agentic AI.
The cooperation focuses on integrating SE3 Labs’ AI capabilities into HENSOLDT’s MDOcore platform for automated data processing. SE3 Labs develops AI models that use large language models and advanced computer vision technology to generate interpretable insights from sensor data in real time. These capabilities are set to become an integral part of MDOcore in future, thereby expanding the scope of HENSOLDT’s offering in the field of multi-domain operations.
Sven Heursch, Chief Digital Officer and Head of Software-Defined Defence at HENSOLDT, said: “Agentic AI is the next logical step for multi-domain operations — moving away from pure data aggregation and visualisation towards systems that allow users to interact directly with military situational awareness and control operations via voice commands. With SE3 Labs, we are gaining a strong partner for this, one that significantly strengthens our MDOcore platform.”
Through this collaboration, both companies are pursuing a strategic goal: to take decision-making superiority to the next level and secure a decisive advantage for armed forces in networked operations. Lukas Koestler, co-founder and CEO of SE3 Labs, explained: “HENSOLDT and SE3 Labs combine complementary capabilities that together create real added value: HENSOLDT’s world-class sensor technology and our AI agents, which autonomously analyse sensor data, identify correlations and derive concrete courses of action from them. This significantly reduces cognitive load and enables faster and better decisions.”
For HENSOLDT, the partnership represents a targeted strengthening of its software capabilities in the areas of software-defined defence and multi-domain operations. For its part, SE3 Labs brings leading expertise in spatial and agentic AI. The MoU covers specific programmes and ongoing tenders.

Our company
HENSOLDT is a leading European high-tech company in the defence and security industry, based in Taufkirchen near Munich. The company develops sensor solutions, electronics and software for the air, land, sea, cyber and space domain, helping armed forces worldwide to detect threats early and make informed operational decisions.
Building on decades of experience in mission-critical sensor technology, HENSOLDT combines radar, optronics, electronics and cyber expertise with data-driven software and artificial intelligence. The aim is to integrate and analyse sensor data from different platforms and domains and merge it into a reliable situational picture.
HENSOLDT has thus evolved from a traditional sensor supplier to a new-generation system integrator – a ‘neo-system house’ that enables networked, Software-Defined Defence capabilities and supports information superiority in missions.
In the 2025 financial year, HENSOLDT achieved a turnover of €2.46 billion with around 9,500 employees. The company is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the MDAX.
About SE3 Labs
SE3 Labs develops the fundamental spatial AI technology for the next generation of autonomous systems. The ability to perceive, reason and act in three dimensions is becoming a crucial core capability for autonomous systems. SE3’s software processes sensor data in real time to create a continuously updated, three-dimensional model. Spatial understanding is synchronised across platforms, enabling all systems within a network to operate based on a shared situational picture. AI agents continuously analyse the situation and draw conclusions independently. Operators command the entire network using natural language; spoken intent is interpreted spatially and distributed as coordinated behaviour across all platforms. The technology integrates every system into a team member – it links human intent with operational execution through real-time 3D understanding: one operator, many systems, maximum impact.
SE3 was founded by Lukas Köstler (CEO), Simon Klenk (CTO) and Prof. Dr Daniel Cremers (Chief Science Officer, CSO). Professor Cremers holds the Chair of Image Processing and AI at the Technical University of Munich, is President of the European Computer Vision Association and a recipient of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize. With technological excellence at its core, SE3 translates cutting-edge research into operationally relevant capabilities for the armed forces. The company empowers the German Bundeswehr and allied forces with advanced spatial AI to meet the demands of modern operations.
