Oberkochen, Germany, 10 December 2018 – HENSOLDT is supporting the Soldatenhilfswerk der Bundeswehr e.V., the Soldiers' Relief Agency of the Federal Armed Forces, with an amount of 6,860 euros. On behalf of the association, First Lieutenant Jan Friede from the Rommel barracks in Dornstadt accepted the symbolic cheque from Andreas Hülle, Head of Optronics.

“As a company in the defence industry, we are aware of our responsibility towards the soldiers of the German armed forces, which does not end with the deployment. We want to support where the legal means are no longer sufficient,” said Andreas Hülle.
First Lieutenant Friede: “On behalf of all comrades in need, I would like to express my sincere thanks for this generous donation. We will use it to finance ongoing projects. These include dolphin therapy for soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorders and emergency aid for relatives of fallen soldiers.”

The aim of the Bundeswehr Soldiers' Relief Agency is to help quickly and unbureaucratically in times of need. Since its foundation in 1957, the association has provided individual support to more than 35,000 soldiers and their families. The Soldiers' Relief Agency becomes active when the worries and needs of soldiers and their relatives cannot be alleviated through its own efforts and conventional procedures.

The donation consists of proceeds from the sale of hardware to the staff of HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH, Oberkochen's second-largest employer with 550 employees. The employees of HENSOLDT's business line develop and manufacture complex safety electronics here.
