Ulm/Germany, 16 December 2022 – The HENSOLDT sites in Ulm, Immenstaad and Taufkirchen collected presents for children in a Christmas gift campaign. Over 700 children's wishes could be fulfilled by the employees.
Many German children have to struggle with poverty in everyday life and thus have no chance to receive presents for Christmas. This now also affects some Ukrainian children, who had to flee due to the outbreak of war and leave everything behind in their home country to find safety in Germany. The disadvantaged children live in children's homes, have health restrictions or a family that lives below the poverty line. To give these children at least a little joy, HENSOLDT organised the "Christmas Star" campaign.
The participating children could write a wish on a self-made star, which was then hung on Christmas trees at the various sites. There, employees were able to take the star, get the gift and wrap it in Christmas wrapping.
In cooperation with "Aktion 100.000" and other social institutions in Ulm, it was also possible to support families who could not afford presents financially. In Ulm, the gifts went to the "Guter Hirte" children's home, the German Child Protection Association, the Jörg Syrlin School, the Albrecht Berblinger Primary School, the Support group for foreign children e.V., Oberlin – Youth welfare facility and the Schillerschool in Erbach, as well as the representatives of the “Aktion 100.000”.
