At the same time, HENSOLDT is aware of its special responsibility. The company and its employees watch with great respect as the people of Ukraine defend their country with such determination and courage. The new hub is also an expression of this solidarity – and of the commitment to provide concrete support where it matters most.
Requirements arise in the field. Coordination, prioritisation and problem-solving cannot be managed from a distance. With the new centre, HENSOLDT is therefore establishing a permanent local point of contact – close to the users, close to the operational realities.
A key focus is on the coordination of services and training. The aim is to strengthen existing local capabilities in a targeted manner and to enable Ukrainian partners to operate, maintain and rapidly restore systems to operational readiness independently. HENSOLDT is consolidating training programmes, structuring service processes and ensuring that expertise reaches where it is immediately needed.
“Availability is key,” says HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dörre. “It’s not just about delivering systems. It’s about keeping them operational. This requires local expertise, clear processes and close coordination.”
At the same time, the centre takes on a second task: linking innovation with industrial implementation. Ukraine has developed into one of the most dynamic innovation hubs in the defence sector – characterised by rapid progress, a highly pragmatic approach and immediate feedback from operational use.
However, this innovative strength only realises its full potential when combined with established systems, industrial standards and scalable architectures. This is precisely where HENSOLDT comes in – as a bridge-builder between new technological approaches and proven systems.
“Ukraine demonstrates how quickly innovation can emerge under real-world conditions,” says Dörre. “Our task is to combine this speed with industrial scalability and system integration.
With the innovation hub, HENSOLDT is strengthening its role as a reliable partner to the Ukrainian armed forces and industry – with the clear aim of ensuring and further enhancing operational capability.
