The sensor specialist is expanding its service footprint in Canada

Sensor specialist HENSOLDT has secured a contract to supply spare parts for the optronic equipment on the Canadian Armed Forces’ Leopard 2 main battle tanks.

The contract is valued at around 10 million euros.

HENSOLDT supplies the international Leopard user group (LEOBEN) with the tank’s ‘eyes’. These include the PERI R17 A3 commander’s periscope, the ATTICA GL thermal imaging device, the SPECTUS driver’s sight system, the FERO Z 18 rifle scope and the EMES OPO rangefinder.

To further support its customers in Canada, HENSOLDT will be expanding its service footprint for land and naval systems.

Marco Liebscher, Head of Product Services Optronics, explained: “As part of our sustainment programme, HENSOLDT is working to improve system availability through accelerated maintenance. Our aim is to further reduce downtime and thus maintain operational readiness.”
