Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has achieved the Excellence level of the ESG Transparency Award from the EUPD Research Group.

The award recognises companies that communicate their environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices in a particularly open and transparent manner.

HENSOLDT's sustainability reporting rated as excellent by ESG Transparency Award

The three levels of the ESG Transparency Evaluation Standard indicate the maturity of ESG reporting: The development level (0–50%) marks basic transparency requirements, the predicate level (50–75%) stands for solid and structured ESG disclosure, and the excellence level (75–100%) certifies particularly comprehensive, clear and exemplary sustainability reporting.

The award confirms the importance of the company's current measures, which are published as part of its sustainability strategy and sustainability report. The basis for this is the so-called materiality analysis, which provides the content basis for strategy and reporting.

The materiality analysis identifies the sustainability issues that are most important to HENSOLDT and its stakeholders within the framework of its business model. It provides clarity on what HENSOLDT reports on and where the company's greatest influence lies, as well as the topics that are prioritised in the sustainability strategy.

The material topics for HENSOLDT are:

  • E1 Climate change
  • S1 Company workforce
  • S2 Workforce in the value chain
  • S4 Consumers and end users
  • G1 Corporate governance

This structured approach enhances the quality of ESG communication and supports the openness that is also recognised in the ESG Transparency Awards.

‘ESG reporting has evolved from a niche topic to a fundamental part of modern corporate governance,’ explains Dr Monica Streck, Head of Group Sustainability. ‘Investors, consumers and stakeholders expect clear information on how companies address environmental challenges, address social issues and how the company is managed.’

Security forms the basis for a sustainable future – HENSOLDT is equally committed to both. The company takes its responsibility as a sustainable, local business very seriously and has set itself ambitious targets for emissions avoidance, resource-efficient management and responsible corporate governance.
