PrecISR
Airborne multi-mission surveillance radarsThe challenge
In an increasingly complex world of unpredictable and constantly evolving threats, access to better information is the key to staying ahead of the curve and mitigating these threats.
PrecISR, HENSOLDT’s new range of high-performance, compact Airborne Multi-Mission Surveillance Radars, is precisely the solution required to provide decision makers with this outstanding capability. Designed for all types of airborne surveillance missions, PrecISR can operate 24/7 in all weather conditions, ensuring safety and security while detecting conventional and asymmetric threats on the ground, at sea and in the air.
Blue water and littoral missions supported by PrecISR include:
- Maritime and coastal patrol
- Blue and brown water operations
- Anti-submarine warfare
- Fishing control
- Marine traffic supervision ·
- Search and rescue
- Offshore gas rig protection and oil spill detection
- Disaster relief
Our solution
The PrecISR radar range transforms the latest advances in active array and digital receiver technology into a scalable, high-performance radar sensor that is optimised for size, weight, and power (SWaP).
PrecISR uses the latest generation of X-band gallium nitride (GaN) Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) antenna technology, offering two-dimensional e-scan capabilities. Based on a single-chip GaN T/R function, it provides double the transmit power of other radars with a much lower noise figure. PrecISR sensors combine AESA with large-bandwidth, multi-channel radar electronics and integrated radar signal processing with a 360° gimbal in a single unit.
The modular design of the PrecISR™ antenna enables scaled antenna sizes to be readily provided, thus allowing customers to trade off range and detection performance, as well as SWaP considerations, as required. Being able to easily integrate onto different platforms without fuselage penetration and maximizing installation flexibility was a major design goal of PrecISR radar range. Consequently, PrecISR radars
can be supplied with a variety of mounting options, including both gimbals mounted beneath the fuselage and multiple fixed arrays distributed around the aircraft’s airframe.
