Information dominance across all domains

Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has received a major order worth just under one billion euros. The customer is General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS). Over the next seven years, the company will equip the German Armed Forces' new Next Generation (NG) reconnaissance vehicle LUCHS 2 with state-of-the-art sensor technology and the CERETRON mission system. The order is considered the largest single order in this capability area in HENSOLDT's history.

With the launch of the MDOcore software suite, HENSOLDT has reached a key milestone on the road to software-defined defence solutions. As the digital foundation for multi-domain operations (MDO), MDOcore enables the first-ever end-to-end, cross-domain integration of sensor- and effect-based systems. This speeds up decision-making processes in the field and significantly reduces the time from reconnaissance to effect – from the sensor network to the effector network.

HENSOLDT AG announces that Sven Heursch has taken up the newly created position of “Head of Software-Defined Defence & Digitalisation” with effect from 1 August 2025. In this role, Heursch will report directly to CEO Oliver Dörre.

At Paris Air Show 2025 in Le Bourget from 16 to 22 June 2025, sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT will be demonstrating how the concept of software-defined defence can significantly increase the performance of defence systems. This is based partly on sensor data fusion, one of HENSOLDT's core competences.
