Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT welcomed Munich Business School's Female Leadership Lounge to its Taufkirchen site.

Led by Dr. Christine Menges and Prof. Dr. Patricia Kraft, the event offered participants the opportunity to get to know an internationally active technology company up close and to talk to Chief Financial Officer Christian Ladurner.

Christian Ladurner welcomed the guests. In his speech, he traced the company's history from its founding to its current position in the MDAX: "Since HENSOLDT was founded, I have had the privilege of helping to shape our journey from carve-out to MDAX. This momentum shows what is possible when entrepreneurial courage, technological excellence and dedicated teams come together. The fact that a women's network from Munich Business School is seeking dialogue with us today is a strong signal to me – for the growing relevance of our industry and for the common interest in inspiring more women to take an interest in technology and leadership."

Kathrin Dannenmeier, Head of Product Services Radar/IFF, then took over and presented the company's basic principles. She focused in particular on the values and leadership principles that characterise cooperation at HENSOLDT. Responsibility, trust and cooperation form the basis of the corporate culture and are also reflected in the understanding of leadership. ‘Role models are crucial. When our participants experience leadership personalities like here at HENSOLDT, it becomes clear that career paths in technology-driven companies are diverse and achievable,’ says Dr Christine Menges.

It also became clear that the promotion of women at HENSOLDT is not an isolated issue, but part of a structural approach. With initiatives such as the internal women's network empowerHER, the company creates targeted opportunities for female employees to network and develop their skills. In this way, HENSOLDT underlines its commitment to actively promoting equal opportunities and strengthening diversity in the long term.

The event was framed by HENSOLDT Supervisory Board member Hiltrud Werner, who set the tone with her opening remarks and concluding summary. She also moderated the Q&A session and ensured a lively and structured exchange between the participants and Kathrin Dannenmeier as the representative of HENSOLDT.

With International Women's Day on 8 March approaching, the special significance of such formats also became clear during the meeting: they create visibility, promote networking and make a concrete contribution to empowering women in business and technology.

The visit to the Female Leadership Lounge demonstrated the value of dialogue between academia and industry – and at the same time sent a clear signal about the importance of diversity and female leadership in a changing industry. ‘The visit to HENSOLDT shows the students how dynamic and socially relevant the security and defence industry is today. Especially in times of geopolitical change, it is important that women actively shape these developments,’ said Kathrin Dannenmeier about the visit to HENSOLDT.
