Attending the INDO PACIFIC International Maritime Exposition for the first time, HENSOLDT Australia draws on the diversity of its global portfolio of mission critical sensor systems for protection, surveillance and situational awareness.

HENSOLDT is introducing its newly developed ‘Quadome’ radar system for naval surveillance and target acquisition. Equipped with the latest technology, ‘Quadome’ provides rapid response and high precision, at an excellent price-performance ratio aiming at the global market for tactical naval radar systems, mainly targeting offshore patrol vessels (OPVs), light frigates and support vessels. The new-generation radar features the latest gallium nitride (GaN)-based active electronically steered antenna (AESA) technology and is software-defined, thus being a future-proof solution with an extended operational lifetime. “Quadome offers robust capabilities for the detection and tracking of small surface targets and accurate 3D tracking of small, low-flying, fast-moving air targets, ensuring effective threat evaluation, weapon assignment and a longer effector “keep-out” range due to fast-track initiation” Mr. Wachman said.
Interest has also been high in the HENSOLDT Analytics System which provides an integrated Multi-Intelligence (MULTI-INT) platform for military and business intelligence analysts and decision makers. Extending beyond the usual offerings in Open Source (OS-INT) platforms, such as TV, Radio, printed and social media, and Internet sources, the HENSOLDT system also offers an extensive language recognition capability.
Mr Mark Pfeiffer, Chief Visionary Officer at HENSOLDT Analytics, who is attending INDO PACIFIC 22 said the system is supported by a library of over 30 languages and dialects and a powerful AI engine. This means the system can ‘think’ in the native language to enable automatic speech recognition, and identify the speaker as well as the sentiment contained in the spoken word. The system has applications in intelligence and operational analysis for the military and businesses alike, as well as in the management of natural disasters.
The new SERO 420 Attack periscopes join the SERO 4X0 family on offer from HENSOLDT and have already generated interest from a number of countries with delegations visiting INDO PACIFIC 22. “HENSOLDT has successfully supplied and installed over 3,000 periscopes and optronics mast systems around the world. Currently, more than 21 navies trust in the superiority and reliability of our systems”, Mr. Wachman said. The SERO 420 Attack variant, with its highly capable sensor unit including the latest optics technology for direct vision, the SERO 420 has proven to be the leading-edge periscope system for Navies worldwide.
