Land-based air defence operators work under intense pressure, where speed, accuracy, and coordination are critical. In busy airspaces with aircraft, drones, missiles, and friendly forces, they may have seconds to respond to high-speed threats such as supersonic missiles.
They must interpret radar feeds, data links, and command instructions simultaneously, while also countering electronic warfare tactics like jamming, spoofing, and decoys. Cyber threats such as malware or data corruption add another layer of risk that must be managed in real time.
Environmental and logistical challenges further complicate operations. Terrain can limit sensor coverage, weather can degrade performance, and sustaining advanced radar systems in remote or contested areas requires constant maintenance of equipment, generators, and vehicles.

Quadome Land is a dual-mode, multi-mission surveillance radar for ground-based air- and surface-surveillance, providing forces with unprecedented situational awareness and extremely short reaction times.
It features state of the art technology and is software-defined, thus being a future-proof solution with an extended operational lifetime. Quadome Land complements the Quadome naval version radar and builds on the reputation and track record of HENSOLDT’s tactical radar family, which has been very successful and has sold over 100 units over a 25-year timespan.
