OPTARION OptaMission

Mission planning and support
Optamission Helicopter

The challenge

Modern air operations have become dynamic, data-driven, and executed across multiple platforms, domains, and national boundaries.

Traditional linear mission planning is no longer sufficient.

Forces require an integrated operational capability that connects planning, execution, and analysis seamlessly in complex, heterogeneous environments.

OPTARION OptaMission

Our solution

OptaMission by HENSOLDT transforms mission planning into a tactical, operational capability that serves as the central platform for connected air operations. It is not a standalone tool but a platform-based system designed to integrate, orchestrate, and operate across diverse systems and coalition partners.

OptaMission supports the entire mission lifecycle—from initial planning and dynamic re-planning under changing conditions, through execution support tailored to platforms and roles, to structured debriefing and operational analysis. It is multi-platform by design, supporting helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, space assets, unmanned aerial systems, and future collaborative systems, while remaining independent of specific airframes or mission systems.

Rather than replacing existing solutions, OptaMission integrates third-party components, harmonizes heterogeneous data sources, and enables interoperability across systems and nations. Typically deployed as part of a complete operational ground system (e.g., within OPTARION Deployable Operating Base or fixed data centers), it includes IT infrastructure, secure communications, and C2 integration, delivering a fully operational mission support capability.

Proven in realistic operational environments and multinational exercises like TIMBER EXPRESS, OptaMission ensures reliable performance and integration of diverse national systems. Built on a software-defined, modular, and interoperable architecture, it guarantees resilience, flexibility, and long-term evolvability. Designed for future multi-domain operations, it supports cross-domain data fusion, accelerated decision-making, and platform-independent access to mission-critical information, evolving from a planning tool into an active component of a connected operational ecosystem.
