A proud and enviable history dating back over 250 years

HENSOLDT UK, formerly known as Kelvin Hughes, is a world leader in the development, manufacture and supply of maritime navigation and surveillance radar systems. Enfield, in the north of London, is the headquarter of HENSOLDT UK with about 150 employees. The company sets international standards in solid state radar sensor technology with SharpEye™ and its navigation and tactical radar display systems.

The core product technology of HENSOLDT UK is SharpEye™ – a radar transceiver launched in 2006 that brings military grade target detection at an affordable price to warships and offshore patrol vessels. SharpEye is a solid state pulse Doppler navigation and surface search radar sensor and differentiates to the competition through its extremely high reliability and ability to detect very small Radar Cross Section (RCS) targets in severe weather or high clutter conditions.

Our Site in the UK

Enfield

HENSOLDT UK relocated its operations from a site in Hainault, Essex in 2012 that it had occupied for 97 years, to a brand new purpose-built modern facility that boasts a state-of-the-art IT system, open plan office areas on two floors, cell-based manufacturing and assembly area, training school and engineering labs.

The Enfield location was chosen for its flexibility to be fitted out and equipped to support an efficient business that was in keeping with the advanced radar equipment it designs and produces. The location also provides excellent links to central London by train, and all of the London airports and major motorways, it being only 1.5 miles away from the M25 motorway that circles London.

About 180 employees work at the Enfield site.
